On Thursday, the 63-year-old former NBA star and his wife Earlitha “Cookie” Johnson posted images from a toga party they attended aboard the yacht Phoenix 2. Johnson, dressed in a white toga, and Cookie, dressed in a white frock, both had gold laurels around their heads.

“The Phoenix 2 crew put on a Greek god and goddess extravaganza tonight on the yacht,” Johnson wrote as a caption for the photographs. We had a fantastic time in our costumes and at the dance, and Chef Daisy cooked us an incredible meal. What a gorgeous Greek sunset we’re treated to tonight.

Johnson rented a jet ski on Myrtos Bay on Kefalonia a few hours before the party. With the comment, “There is no greater thrill for me than being out on the water and seeing some beautiful coastlines, especially in a country like Greece,” he shared a collection of video and stills from his jet ski excursion.

Since the beginning of July, Johnson and his family have been touring Europe. He first started writing about the vacation on July 5 when he and Cookie ate at the Michelangelo restaurant in Antibes, France. In July, Samuel L. Jackson appeared in a couple images with Johnson, including one with music industry magnate Clive Davis.

In the midst of his time spent basking in the sun, Johnson returned to the United States to pursue his most recent business endeavor. He is part of the new ownership group for the Wаshington Commanders, which is headed by Josh Harris, co-founder of Apollo Global Management. After receiving approval from the other 31 NFL franchise owners on July 20th, the consortium officially became the team’s owners. The Wall Street Journal claims the deal is worth $6 bιllιon.

Johnson, taking time off from his vacation to discuss what it means to become an NFL owner as a Black man, termed the chance a “great one” on the Today show.

Tearfully telling Today anchor Craig Melvin on July 21 that “breаking these barriers and going through these doors is important to me… as a proud Black man,” Johnson explained why he felt it was so important to him. “You’ve brought tears to my eyes.”

“I don’t know why God blessed me with these opportunities, but I’m going to excel, not only for myself, my family, but for all African Americans, making sure we can see [ourselves] in these seats,” the NBA Hall of Famer stated. “And I want word to get out that we can get the job done,” he said.

In a tweet, Johnson also termed this “historic moment” for the African-American community and the “biggest achievement” of his business career. Fans were also reminded of his personal ties to the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The D.C. area has “embraced and supported me,” he added, and “I am honored and ecstatic to be a co-owner of the Commanders franchise.”

Johnson and his family returned to the Mediterranean after their trip to Wаshington. EJ, 31, and Elisa, 28, are Johnson and Cookie’s children. Andre, age 42, is the son of Mitchell, the ex-girlfriend of the former Los Angeles Lakers star.
