While in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, the 35-year-old winger took in Poissy and the Rouge et Bleu training facility. He is currently representing the United States in the event.
Meeting with Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the first team and women’s team players and staff, the club’s Training Centre kids, and the Club’s Foundation children were all opportunities that Kevin Durant, a genuine icon of his sport, enjoyed. In recent years, Paris Saint-Germain has welcomed Jimmy Butler, Giánnis Antetokoúnmpo, Hamidou Diallo, and Royce O’Neale, continuing a legacy that is both distinct and familiar to Les Rouge et Bleu and the NBA.
Today in Team USA’s quarterfinal match against Brazil, Durant scored 488 points, surpassing Leslie’s previous Olympic record. With his current 494 points, Durant has set a new record that will only increase as he plays Serbia in his next game and, if Team USA advances to the final, an even higher mark.
Following Leslie’s congratulations on X, who praised Durant for his fight for Team USA, Durant was urged to go win the gold medal in Paris. With a victory in Paris, Durant can tie Carmelo Anthony for most Olympic medals won by an American player.
Should the United States of America emerge victorious, KD would have earned four Olympic gold medals, bringing him even with Carmelo Anthony for the men’s basketball medal tally. Melo has three golds and a bronze from 2004 with Team USA, but Durant would have all four golds.
Durant performed admirably in the quarterfinal match against Brazil. The United States of America dominated Brazil in a 122-87 victory thanks in large part to Durant’s 11 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal in just 17 minutes off the bench. On Thursday, they will face Serbia in a match that will determine who advances to the gold medal match.
Reflecting on Record, Kevin Durant Gives Lisa Leslie a Shout OutAfter his historic performance against Serbia, Kevin Durant went on X later in the day to discuss it. Durant expressed his gratitude to Lisa Leslie for her unwavering support, said that records are made to be broken, and expressed his eagerness for the day when his own record is surpassed. He also wished his colleagues the best of luck in winning the Olympic gold medal.
I will cling to this until someone else great comes along and surpasses me; records are made to be broken. Thanks for all the love and support you’ve given me over the years, Lisa Leslie; you’re the best in basketball. You are always in my heart… A gold infant is the center of attention. Alright, let’s do it, guys.
