The Chiefs wide receiver and entrepreneur announced their engagement on Instagram Thursday
The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, 26, and his fiancée Chariah Gordon announced their engagement in separate Instagram posts on Thursday, June 20, featuring a video of the proposal.
“Say hello to the Future Mr. & Mrs. Hardman ️🤵️,” the captions of both videos read.
Gordon, 29, shared more details about the proposal on social media Thursday. The skincare brand founder wore a black jacket and matching sweats for what she thought was a typical date night when she went out, per her Instagram Stories.
As seen in the engagement video, she was eventually led into a room full of loved ones that was decorated with white rose petals and candles. There was a huge lit-up sign that read, “Will you marry me?”
Gordon looked happily shocked in the video and was being serenaded live by Jon B. singing “I Do” when Hardman walked into the room, wearing a casual white outfit. Hardman then proposed to Gordon.
“Yes!” the mother of two screamed for her family and friends to hear.
Hardman put a huge marquee-shaped diamond ring on Gordon’s finger and the couple also danced as Jon B. sang. Per the video, the special night also included a cocktail that said “MC The Hardmans” on top of the foam.
The couple began dating in 2021 and made headlines when their first child together was born on Super Bowl Sunday — Feb. 12, 2023. Hardman was preparing to play in the game (which the Chiefs won) when Gordon’s water broke.
They introduced their son, named Three, to the world in an Instagram post Gordon shared in May 2023.
In November 2023, the couple shared on Instagram that their second child on the way was a baby girl. They haven’t shared their daughter’s name or birthdate publicly yet, though she’s featured in Instagram posts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day 2024.
The couple’s engagement news comes on the heels of the news that Hardman has signed a new one-year deal with the Chiefs, which Taylor Swift is excited about.
