Mason Plumlee Becomes the First Free Agent Signee for the Phoenix Suns

The start of free agency has been rather low-key. Despite the usual mayhem as we all attempt to keep up with the flurry of moves, today has become a complete doldrums. The Phoenix Suns discovered about tampering runs last offseason when they acquired Drew Eubanks, so it’s likely a combination of all the CBA constraints and tampering runs. What a flop today has been.

The Suns did not make their initial signing until four hours subsequent to the floodgates opening. Mason Plumlee, please come down.Plumlee, whose nickname is “Plumdog Millionaire,” is one of the plumlee brothers. In the 2014–2015 season, his older brother Miles was an NBA player for the Phoenix Suns. I’m addressing you, Drew, because you were the backup center on the team, and he’s a tremendous big guy who will fill that need with size and fundamentals. Even though it doesn’t feel very impressive, this move is actually a good “floor play.” You find someone who is sure to make a difference. Not much good can come out of this, but then again, we aren’t playing “Plinko” and hoping the puck lands in the $10,000 slot. Ultimately, this is just a vet-minimum deal shopping service, and it’s free.

Mason, who stands at 6 feet 10 inches, is emerging from his eleventh season with the lowest statistical performance. In 46 games played last season for the Los Angeles Clippers, he finished with a career-low 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds. Reaches rock bottom in your career? No way! Just one more thing: Plumlee, who was 34 years old at the time, was mostly used as a bench player for one of the first years of his career.

Plumlee’s signing bolsters the Suns’ frontcourt, where rookie Oso Ighodaro plays alongside Jusuf Nurkic. We know Plumlee can provide consistency to our team after being “Cliffhangered” twice by the Clippers last season. Although it’s not quite winning the Showcase Showdown, it’s also not losing on “Let’s Make a Deal.”

Very well. I will end my use of references to game shows now.

The jerseys that Mason has worn throughout his career are 1, 24, 7, and 44. Devin Booker or the rafters of the Footprint Center are likely housing all of those. Who knows what number he’ll pick?

If yоu’re lооking fоr an imprоvement оver Drew Eubanks heading intо next seasоn, Masоn Plumlee is yоur best bet. With their big frоnt line and the rооkie’s added athleticism, the Suns have a fоrmidable оffensive unit. In the future, we will discuss further acquisitiоns оn Bright Side. оnly three rоster berths remain…
