One sunny afternoon in the heart of the jungle, a greedy wild elephant was on the prowl for his next sugary delight. He had an insatiable craving for sugarcane and knew precisely where to satisfy it.
As he made his way through the lush foliage, he noticed a convoy of trucks passing by, each one loaded with sugarcane. Without a second thought, the elephant dashed onto the road, eager to grab a few pieces of the sweet treat.
But as he approached the trucks, he witnessed something that made him freeze in his tracks. A small family of monkeys was already actively plundering the sugarcane, sifting through the piles and indulging in the juicy stalks.
Feeling a pang of guilt, the elephant realized he couldn’t just barge in and take the sugarcane for himself. Instead, he chose to wait patiently by the side of the road, observing as the monkeys played and feasted to their heart’s content.
After a while, the monkeys grew weary and wandered off, leaving behind a few scattered pieces of sugarcane. That’s when the elephant made his move. He cautiously approached the pile of sugarcane and delicately plucked a stalk, savoring the sweet taste as he chewed.
Even as he relished his treat, the elephant couldn’t help but feel grateful for the small family of monkeys who had come before him. He understood that without them, he wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the sugarcane in the first place.
With that thought in mind, the elephant continued on his journey through the jungle, carrying a little more gratitude and happiness in his heart than before.
